Portage County Alliance for Youth Prevention Committee

Strategies for PCAY Prevention Committee includes:

  1. Increasing knowledge and changing attitudes about substance use and abuse.

  2. Teaching important social skills on resisting drugs and making good decisions.

  3. Offering opportunities for participation in drug free activities.

  4. Educating parents and the community about AODA

  5. Evaluating different models and programs in prevention and provide trainings and education to schools, parents and community.

  6. Help incorporate sexual assault and bullying prevention into programming prevention.

  7. Create an AODA Resource Kit for teachers and agencies dealing with youth that will include resources and information on at risk behaviors and the Developmental Asset process.
